Viktor Fábián

My name is Viktor Fábián. I am doing my second year on masters to become a PE teacher at TE. Throughout these five years I was an Erasmus student two times in Spain. First in Sevilla and second time in Valencia. I have had a great Erasmus experience there. I became an employee of Erasmus Life Budapest the last week.
The reason why I would like to apply for being an Erasmus mentor is basically that I would like to help the incoming students. There is a lot of difficulties for a foreign student specially at the beggining. I have already faced these challanges when I was abroad so I could be a useful help as a member of the team. I have nearly 5 years of experience at the school which allows me to help the Erasmus students in case they need anything. Also it brings me joy to show and introduce them the hungarian culture. The most popular places, buildings in Budapest or Hungary. As a member of the ELB crew I can inform the incoming students about the upcoming events of the organization. This job would be a useful experience for me too. I can learn a lot from the foreign students and could improve my or language and organazing skills.
I wish I could be a part of the crew to help others and in the meantime help myself to improve.

I am new old member of the mentor group from now on ;) I am a 5th year student studying PE on the masters. I have been on erasmus twice so i kinda know what it is like :p So in case you need any help i am more than happy to answear any questions. I would like to apply to the Mentor position what you advertise.

I chose the position because I would like to make new friendships with foreign people. I also would like to know their culture. I would like to learn a couple of term in their mother tongue and make connection in the near future.

Right now I have a B2 euroexam language exam but I would like to get a higher exam such as TOEFL. In my opinion this opportunity would help me to reach my goal.

I am working in Hungarian Handball Federation as Sport organizer. I was member of the organizer team in big projects (e.g.: 2016 Women’s EHF Final4 and VII. Beach Handball World Championship).


When I have leisure time, I spend it with my friends. I like traveling and making new friendships.

Motivation letter

I am currently a student of the University of Physical Education in Budapest. I study Human Kinesiology and I am starting my last Bachelor’s year in September so I have been living in Budapest for 2,5 years now. I have also participated in an Erasmus exchange myself, where I had the chance to spend a semester in England. With this experience, I can state that I know how it feels to be a fresh face at a foreign environment.

I am applying for the Erasmus Mentor program this year again because I think it is a great way to meet foreign people and get to know different cultures. I really enjoyed being a mentor and helping students with whatever I could. Being new to a foreign city and university can be overwhelming at first and I would really like to help so that students can get the most out of their stay. I find the program very useful to practice English communication skills as well.

I find this program to be extremely fun all in all. It is not only exciting for the exchange students but for the mentors as well. It is a great way to express hospitality and show as much of the city, culture and life here as possible so that the students can return home with fulfilled dreams and lots of memories. From my past exchange experiences I know that friendships can be made for a lifetime during these stays. I also know how easy it is to get attached to a place, especially if people are surrounded with new friends and lots of activities. I truly think this is a great opportunity for both the newcomer and the receiving parties.

I am writing to apply for being an Erasmus mentor, advised by a friend. I am thoroughly keen on collecting information in foreign countries and this kind of knowledge could help to navigate the other participants.

My name is Fanni Bajkor. I will begin my first year at university. I have been learning foreign languages for 13 years. First I started learning German. I have been pursuing rhythmic gymnastics since I was five and it became the significant part of my life, however now I aim at trying myself in other things.          

 I believe that I am suitable for this programme, because I am very enthusiastic, curious and purposeful. I am open-minded for other cultures, languages and the knowledge coming from these factors, and I am ready to try everything new with pleasure, not to mention that I love learning.

Last year I was a participant at the Erasmus+ program, which was a lifetime experience and I never have such a wonderful holiday.

I think after taking part in this programme, I will have a wider knowledge in many fields, including scientific, linguistic and personal areas. I completely aware of the hardships of learning in a foreign country, hence I will be your helpful partner.

Mr. Máté Takács

I decided to apply to be a mentor because I think it is really important to show the non-nationals what Budapest is famous for. There is plenty more to see than the Buda castle and Heroes Square. As a local who has been living in Buda for 23 years, I know the capital well. Speaking English is not a problem as I have passed the language exam years ago. Besides this, last semester I studied in Izmir, Turkey for half a year. When I was there, I remember the first day when we did some sightseeing. I was buzzing to see the city, but instead of getting the basic facts about Izmir, which is a really beautiful city, we got lost in the bazar because they were not prepared enough. Although we had fun, I did not get the information I wanted. I just wanted to say that I know how not to perform a sightseeing. When this happened I decided that if I am going to be a mentor, I must definitely do it much better because with a performance like that, I would not step on a stage.

Having spent time in Turkey, I am not saying that I speak fluent Turkish, but I understand them and the basic sentences, which can be a benefit, because Turkish students love coming to Hungary (since they think we are both the sons of Attila). Some of the Turk students told me they really wanted to come to Hungary as a student, which would give me an opportunity to meet them again. Although at times it was a little challenging, I found the whole experience both rewarding but extremely enjoyable.

Mr. Gergely Őri

My name is Gergely Őri, I’m 22 years old. I will start the second year of my master studies at this semester. I’ve been playing waterpolo for 10 years now, but I’m interested in most of other sports too. I also play football in another University, and I often run and do work out. Besides sport I like watching series, listening to music, reading etc.. I like get to know new persons, and I’ve always been interested in other cultures. Because of this I really would like to study abroad for a while. I could imagine how much support a mentor could be, therefore I would like to help you in anything what I can. I hope you’ll have a memorable, great time while studying hear, in Budapest. Enjoy yourselfs, have a good time abroad!

Mr. Dániel Tapodi

My name is Dániel Tapodi. I'm 23 years old. I live in Budapest since i was born, that's why I know the city well. I'll start my 5^th year at the University of Physical Education in September. I love doing sports, I'm good at kayak-canoing, swimming, cycling, wrestling and wall climbing. I like meeting new people and going out with friends in my free-time.

In my view it's important to get to know new people at the university which can be useful not only during university life but after graduation as well. I think Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in the world that I'd like to show and prove to foreigners too. I'd like to improve my English, and for that this could be a great opportunity, which I'd like to take.
