Roland Berei

I am writing to apply for the MA Eramus program of the University of Physical Education Budapest.
First of all, I chose your University because during my studies at the University of Oradea I have got many opportunity to develop my knowledge in sport studies.

These three years were a perfect time to me to learn and to involve.
Secondly, I would like to gain more experience in this profession because I am interested in knowing the university's system, program, mentality and last but not least I want to develop my ability to become better.

Finally, I consider myself very motivated because this Erasmus Program would give me opportunity to have a good career.

Mr. Máté Takács

I decided to apply to be a mentor because I think it is really important to show the non-nationals what Budapest is famous for. There is plenty more to see than the Buda castle and Heroes Square. As a local who has been living in Buda for 23 years, I know the capital well. Speaking English is not a problem as I have passed the language exam years ago. Besides this, last semester I studied in Izmir, Turkey for half a year. When I was there, I remember the first day when we did some sightseeing. I was buzzing to see the city, but instead of getting the basic facts about Izmir, which is a really beautiful city, we got lost in the bazar because they were not prepared enough. Although we had fun, I did not get the information I wanted. I just wanted to say that I know how not to perform a sightseeing. When this happened I decided that if I am going to be a mentor, I must definitely do it much better because with a performance like that, I would not step on a stage.

Having spent time in Turkey, I am not saying that I speak fluent Turkish, but I understand them and the basic sentences, which can be a benefit, because Turkish students love coming to Hungary (since they think we are both the sons of Attila). Some of the Turk students told me they really wanted to come to Hungary as a student, which would give me an opportunity to meet them again. Although at times it was a little challenging, I found the whole experience both rewarding but extremely enjoyable.

I love doing sports, I'm good at kayak-canoing, swimming, cycling, wrestling and wall climbing. I like meeting new people and going out with friends in my free-time.

In my view it's important to get to know new people at the university which can be useful not only during university life but after graduation as well. I think Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in the world that I'd like to show and prove to foreigners too. I'd like to improve my English, and for that this could be a great opportunity, which I'd like to take.

Mr. Benjamin Juhász

My name is Benjamin Juhasz, I am 23 years old, I am studying Recreation. I will start my master studies at this semester. My module is Recreation. I have spent my Erasmus in the United Kingdom. Before that, I had spent 4 months in Zagreb, in Croatia. I used to play soccer for 10 years. Nowadays I swim and do work out. I am interested in most of the sports, besides this, I like cooking, watching films, listening to music etc.. I like to work with people especially with children. Due to the fact that I have lived in abroad as a student I know how much a mentor can mean for a new incomer. Therefore I would like to help you in anything what I can, in order to make your study abroad period a great time. Feel free to contact me. Enjoy your time in our great city, Budapest. =)

I would like to be a mentor of a foreign student in the next semester, as I have experienced how important and useful can be this support for an exchange student. Especially in the first few weeks, a mentor can help with the assimilation to go smoothly and make it as convenient as it can be for a new incomer student. Besides this, after improving my English in the United Kingdom, I would like to keep this level, consequently it would be useful for me to talk in English again. In addition, i am interested in to learn to speak German also.

Furthermore, I learnt how much you can learn from people who come from a different culture. You can meet different aspects of worldview, different ways of thinking, etc. Sincerely I think the mentor program can be useful for the student and the mentor equally.

All in all, the purpose of this letter is to apply for an Erasmus mentor position. I would like to help to another student who will come to our country and our university in the following semester. I will put an effort to make the Erasmus time for him or her a pleasant experience. In addition I would like to reach to evolve a good opinion about Hungary for the foreign student.
